TREVOR BIRNEY

TREVOR BIRNEY is an Emmy-nominated producer, award-winning director, and the founder of Fine Point Films. He most recently produced his first scripted feature, Kneecap, directed by Rich Peppiatt, which will have its world premiere at Sundance Film Festival in January, 2024. In 2023, he produced the Cyndi Lauper documentary, “Let The Canary Sing” which premiered at Tribeca Film Festival. Previously, he produced the Critics’ Choice Award-winning and Sundance hit film The Go-Go’s directed by Alison Ellwood. He directed the RTÉ television documentary series, “Quinn Country” which aired in 2022. His slate also includes Emmy-nominated film No Stone Unturned directed by Oscar-winner Alex Gibney, Sundance World Competition film Gaza, Emmy-nominated Elián for CNN Films, Netflix Originals Documentary Mercury 13, George Best: All By Himself for ESPN and BBC, Wave Goodbye To Dinosaurs in collaboration with Abigail Disney’s Fork Films, Bobby Sands: 66 Days and HBO’s Emmy-winning Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God directed by Alex Gibney. In 2020, he directed The Dakota Entrapment Tapes which premiered at Hot Docs and was released on Sundance Now.

He is also the founder of the television production company Below The Radar and the multi-award-winning investigative journalism website The Detail.

SABINA CHEREK

SABINA CHEREK is Chief Financial Officer with Fine Point Films and has been an integral part of the company advancement over the past number of years. In February 2014 she was invited to join the Main Board of Fine Point Films as Chief Financial Officer with responsibilities across the group, Fine Point Films, The Detail and Below The Radar. Her key focus is to manage finances and maintain accurate and transparent financial records for all documentaries, feature films, and online media productions with oversight for financial planning and reporting, auditors relations, and human resources.

Sabina graduated with 2.1 in BS (Hons) Business from the University of Ulster in 2012. As a qualified CIMA member and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), Sabina holds the CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting. She is also a member of Accounting Technicians Ireland (MIATI) and a member of the Chartered Management Institute (MCMI).

CAROL MURPHY

CAROL MURPHY is a Production Manager who has over 20 years experience working in the industry. Carol spent 11 years of her career working in live news broadcast, before she ventured into the world of production management in 2011 when she managed the live broadcast of the MotoGP for BBC Sport. In 2015 Carol joined the Fine Point Films team and started her journey in the ‘unscripted’ world and what a journey it has been. 

 

EIMHEAR O'NEILL

EIMHEAR O'NEILL is Head of Development at Fine Point Films and a Critics’ Choice winning producer behind Sundance hit film The Go-Go’s, directed by Alison Ellwood, as well as Cyndi Lauper: Let the Canary Sing, which premiered at Tribeca in 2023.

Prior to that, Eimhear co-produced Emmy-nominated film No Stone Unturned, directed by Oscar-winner Alex Gibney, and Netflix Originals Documentary Mercury 13.  She also served as associate producer on HBO’s Emmy and Peabody winning Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God directed by Alex Gibney. Eimhear directed Wave Goodbye to Dinosaurs for PBS and BBC in association with Abigail Disney’s Fork Films as well as the award-winning short Inez: A Challenging Woman. She is a former recipient of the BFI Flare Filmmakers’ Mentorship delivered with BAFTA. 

As Head of Development, Eimhear oversees and develops the company’s dynamic slate of documentaries for global release.

ANDREW TULLY

ANDREW TULLY is Head of Production at Fine Point Films and producer of Cyndi Lauper: Let the Canary Sing. The Alison Ellwood film premiered at Tribeca Film Festival in June and is scheduled for worldwide release in 2024.

Andrew began working at Fine Point in 2014. His first film with the company was Bobby Sands: 66 Days (BBC Storyville). In 2016, he was Associate Producer on George Best: All By Himself (BBC/ESPN) and Wave Goodbye to Dinosaurs in collaboration with Abigail Disney’s, Fork Films. In 2018, Andrew co-produced the feature documentary, One Million American Dreams (Hulu) and produced the evocative short subject documentary, Hear My Voice (BBC). In 2019, he co-produced the feature documentary, An Engineer Imagines, directed by BAFTA-winning Marcus Robinson. 2021 saw the release of two more feature films, My Name Is Bulger (Discovery+) & Ryan McMullan: Debut (BBC). In 2022, he produced the 3-part series, Quinn Country, with Trevor Birney for RTÉ, Bankrupt Billionaire (Amazon) and a 4-part series for BBC titled, Murder In The Badlands.

Andrew will oversee Fine Point's diverse and dynamic slate of documentaries for screens big and small.

JIM O’HAGAN

JIM O’HAGAN has returned to Fine Point Films where he began his career in 2014. After working on a number of local and network documentaries including Above The Law (RTÉ), Docklands: Executing Peace (BBC) and the development of An Engineer Imagines, directed by BAFTA-winning Marcus Robinson and Wave Goodbye to Dinosaurs in collaboration with Abigail Disney’s Fork Films, Jim spent six years working as a bilingual journalist for Euronews. Jim was a senior producer for the channel’s revamp with NBC news, overseeing the launch flagship live programmes including Good Morning Europe and Raw Politics which was broadcast daily from the heart of the European Parliament in the run up to Brexit. Jim also worked as a reporter for the channel’s Middle Eastern operation headquartered in Dubai before returning to Belfast to rejoin his colleagues at Fine Point Films where he is developing the company’s diverse and compelling slate of international feature length documentaries.

DALLAN SHOVLIN

DALLAN SHOVLIN has recently joined Fine Point Films in 2023 as a Drama Development Producer. Having started his career on the set of Game of Thrones in 2014, he has worked on numerous film and TV projects since, including Foundation (Apple TV), School for Good and Evil (Netflix) & Indiana Jones and the Dail of Destiny (Disney) to name a few. After many years on film sets as an Assistant Director, Fine Point Films encountered Dallan on the set of Kneecap where he was the 2nd AD. He joins Fine Point to continue the tradition of native and indigenous stories and help share them through the medium of film and television.   He will be helping to realise Fine Point Films Scripted Drama Slate in 2024.
