TREVOR BIRNEY
Trevor Birney is an Emmy-nominated, award-winning producer, director, and founder of Fine Point Films. He most recently produced Saipan, which had its world premiere at TIFF 2025, as well as Culture Club, which premiered at Tribeca 2025. Trevor also produced Kneecap, directed by Rich Peppiatt, which won the NEXT Audience Award at Sundance and a BAFTA.
In 2023, he produced Cyndi Lauper: Let the Canary Sing, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. Previously, he produced the Critics’ Choice Award-winning and Sundance hit film The Go-Go’s, directed by Alison Ellwood. He also directed the RTÉ television documentary series Quinn Country, which aired in 2022.
His slate also includes the Emmy-nominated film No Stone Unturned, directed by Oscar-winner Alex Gibney; the Sundance World Competition film Gaza; the Emmy-nominated Elián for CNN Films; Netflix Original documentary Mercury 13; and George Best: All by Himself for ESPN.
Trevor is the founder of the television production company Below The Radar and the multi-award-winning investigative journalism website The Detail. He has written two books: Quinn, an Irish bestseller, and Shooting Crows, published in 2024.
SABINA CHEREK
SABINA CHEREK is Chief Financial Officer with Fine Point Films and has been an integral part of the company advancement over the past number of years. In February 2014 she was invited to join the Main Board of Fine Point Films as Chief Financial Officer with responsibilities across the group, Fine Point Films, The Detail and Below The Radar. Her key focus is to manage finances and maintain accurate and transparent financial records for all documentaries, feature films, and online media productions with oversight for financial planning and reporting, auditors relations, and human resources.
Sabina graduated with 2.1 in BS (Hons) Business from the University of Ulster in 2012. As a qualified CIMA member and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), Sabina holds the CIMA Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting. She is also a member of Accounting Technicians Ireland (MIATI) and a member of the Chartered Management Institute (MCMI).
CAROL MURPHY
CAROL MURPHY is a Production Manager who has over 20 years experience working in the industry. Carol spent 11 years of her career working in live news broadcast, before she ventured into the world of production management in 2011 when she managed the live broadcast of the MotoGP for BBC Sport. In 2015 Carol joined the Fine Point Films team and started her journey in the ‘unscripted’ world and what a journey it has been.
ANDREW TULLY
Andrew Tully is Head of Production at Fine Point Films and producer of Boy George & Culture Club, directed by Alison Ellwood. The film premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in June 2025. He also produced Cyndi Lauper: Let the Canary Sing, which premiered at Tribeca in 2024 to critical acclaim and was released globally the same year via Paramount+.
Andrew joined Fine Point Films in 2014, beginning with the acclaimed Bobby Sands: 66 Days (BBC Storyville). He was Associate Producer on George Best: All By Himself (BBC/ESPN) and Wave Goodbye to Dinosaurs, a collaboration with Abigail Disney’s Fork Films. In 2018, he co-produced One Million American Dreams (Hulu) and produced the short documentary Hear My Voice (BBC).
He also co-produced An Engineer Imagines, directed by BAFTA-winner Marcus Robinson. His 2021 credits include My Name Is Bulger (Discovery+) and Ryan McMullan: Debut (BBC). In 2022, he produced Quinn Country (RTÉ), Bankrupt Billionaire (Amazon), and the four-part series Murder in the Badlands (BBC).
Recent projects include the series Chinook: Zulu Delta 576 and The Negotiator, a documentary exploring the complexities of political negotiation and the pursuit of peace — a forthcoming feature set for release in late 2025. Andrew also contributes to the development of Fine Point’s evolving slate and is passionate about curating and elevating young, local, and emerging filmmaking talent across Northern Ireland.
As Head of Production, Andrew oversees Fine Point’s diverse and dynamic slate of documentary and scripted content for screens big and small.
MIA BIRNEY
Mia began working in documentary at Fine Point while still in school, serving as a runner on films such as Docklands and No Stone Unturned. After graduating from university in September 2024, she joined the company as a researcher. She is now an Assistant Producer, having worked on Boy George & Culture Club, The Negotiator, and the forthcoming DJ Carey series for RTÉ. Mia lives in Hackney, East London.
ANNA CALLAN
Anna joined Fine Point Films in 2024 and was appointed as Development Executive for the company in 2025 playing a key role in overseeing Fine Point’s dynamic and evolving slate of scripted and documentary projects. With a passion for storytelling and a keen interest in collaborating with emerging talent, Anna works closely with writers, directors and producers to develop distinctive content that resonates with audiences locally and internationally.
At Fine Point Anna has worked across projects including SAIPAN in cinemas early 2026, and YOU’LL NEVER BELIEVE WHO’S DEAD, a cynical Christmas comedy, coming in 2026.
Before joining Fine Point she worked internationally across a range of genres in the screen industries ranging from High End Series to Film and Comedy, on projects including ANOTHER SIMPLE FAVOR (Amazon), THE NORTHMAN (A24) and GAME OF THRONES (HBO). Anna has also produced projects across both the factual and fiction genres and is committed to championing underrepresented voices and stories that reflect the rich cultural landscape of Northern Ireland and beyond.
JIM O’HAGAN
JIM O’HAGAN has returned to Fine Point Films where he began his career in 2014. After working on a number of local and network documentaries including Above The Law (RTÉ), Docklands: Executing Peace (BBC) and the development of An Engineer Imagines, directed by BAFTA-winning Marcus Robinson and Wave Goodbye to Dinosaurs in collaboration with Abigail Disney’s Fork Films, Jim spent six years working as a bilingual journalist for Euronews. Jim was a senior producer for the channel’s revamp with NBC news, overseeing the launch flagship live programmes including Good Morning Europe and Raw Politics which was broadcast daily from the heart of the European Parliament in the run up to Brexit. Jim also worked as a reporter for the channel’s Middle Eastern operation headquartered in Dubai before returning to Belfast to rejoin his colleagues at Fine Point Films where he is developing the company’s diverse and compelling slate of international feature length documentaries.
